Your FiveM server is running and txAdmin is set up. Now what? This guide covers the first things almost every owner does: a name and description in the server list, admins, a whitelist, and adding scripts and cars.

1. Name, description and icon

These live in server.cfg. Open it in txAdmin under CFG Editor, or in SparkPanel under Files. Change or add these lines:

sv_hostname "My Roleplay Server"
sets sv_projectName "My Roleplay Server"
sets sv_projectDesc "Serious roleplay, Dutch-speaking"
sets tags "roleplay, dutch, qbcore"
sets locale "nl-NL"

Want your own icon in the server list? Upload a 96 × 96 pixel PNG next to server.cfg and add load_server_icon myLogo.png. Restart the server from txAdmin to apply the changes.

2. Add admins

In txAdmin, go to Admin Manager and click Add Admin. Link the person's Cfx.re or Discord account and choose what they're allowed to do (for example only kick and warn, or everything). Give full rights only to people you really trust.

3. Only let in who you want: whitelist

In txAdmin, open Settings → Player Manager and pick a Whitelist Mode:

  • Admin-only: only admins can join. Handy while you're still building.
  • Approved License: new players have to be approved by an admin first.
  • Discord Server Member or Discord Server Roles: only members of your Discord (or a role in it) can join.

You can also set a server password, but a whitelist gives you much more control.

4. Add scripts

  1. Download the script (for example from the Cfx.re forum or GitHub). You'll get a folder with an fxmanifest.lua file in it.
  2. Upload the folder to resources under Files in SparkPanel, or use SFTP for big uploads.
  3. Add ensure scriptname to server.cfg, with the folder name of the script.
  4. Restart the server from txAdmin and check the console for errors.
Many scripts need a database table. Their readme usually includes an .sql file. Your database details are in SparkPanel under Databases.

5. Add-on cars

An add-on car is also a resource: a folder with fxmanifest.lua and a stream folder with the model files. Upload it to resources, add ensure carname and restart. Many cars make your server heavier: with lots of custom vehicles and maps, 8 GB is the safe choice.

Daily restarts and backups

Schedule automatic restarts in txAdmin under Settings → Restarter, for example every night at 06:00. We back up your server every night; before big changes, also make a backup yourself via Backups in SparkPanel.
