Updated 4 November 2026

A roleplay community on FiveM grows in resources long before it grows in players: a framework (QBCore, Qbox or ESX), jobs, phones, inventories, MLO interiors and add-on cars. FiveM 8 GB is the plan for that stage: room for a full roleplay framework with many custom vehicles and maps, 40 GB NVMe for streamed assets, txAdmin and a MySQL database included. It costs €7.19 per month paid per quarter, or €7.49 with monthly billing.

Resources: what really fills the server

  • Streamed assets are the biggest. Every add-on car, clothing pack and MLO interior sits in a stream folder that the server loads and sends to players. A few hundred cars can take several GB of disk and a lot of memory.
  • Scripts cost CPU time on every server tick. One badly written script that loops every frame costs more than ten good ones.
  • Only start what you use. Every ensure line in server.cfg starts a resource. Remove test scripts and duplicates (two phone scripts, two inventories).
  • Measure. In txAdmin, the dashboard shows server performance and memory over time. Players can press F8 and type resmon 1 to see which resources cost the most time on their client.

OneSync and player slots

Leave OneSync on (txAdmin, Settings → FXServer). QBCore, Qbox, ESX and almost every modern roleplay script expect it. With the free license key your server supports up to 48 players; more slots need a Cfx.re Element Club subscription on the account that owns the key (64, 128 or 2048 players, checked 29 October 2026). Set the number with sv_maxclients in server.cfg.

The slot count is rarely the limit. 48 players in a city full of scripts and add-on cars ask much more of a server than 48 players in freeroam. Details: How many players on a FiveM server?

txAdmin: the tools a roleplay server needs

  • Recipes. At setup, txAdmin installs QBCore, ESX and other frameworks from a recipe, including the database tables.
  • Whitelist. Under Settings → Player Manager you can allow only approved players or members of your Discord server. Most roleplay communities use this with an application form.
  • Daily restarts. Under Settings → Restarter, for example every night at 06:00. Restarts clear memory and are normal for roleplay servers.
  • Admins and bans. Give staff their own txAdmin account with only the rights they need, and use txAdmin's warnings and bans so you have a history per player.

The database

QBCore, Qbox and ESX store characters, money, vehicles and inventories in MySQL. Every FiveM plan includes 1 MySQL database: create it in SparkPanel under Databases and enter the details in the txAdmin recipe. Scripts connect through oxmysql, with one line in server.cfg:

set mysql_connection_string "mysql://user:password@host:3306/database?charset=utf8mb4"

  • Import a script's .sql file before you start the script, otherwise it fails on missing tables.
  • Back up the database before updates. Framework updates can change tables. We back up your server every night; before a big change, also make a backup yourself under Backups.
  • Need a second database, for example for a test server? Extra databases cost €0.49 per month each.

Where it runs

FiveM servers run in Germany or Finland; you pick the location when you order on FiveM server hosting. You need your own free license key from the Cfx.re portal: see FiveM license key.

Frequently asked questions

Is 8 GB enough for a QBCore roleplay server? Yes, for a full QBCore, Qbox or ESX server with many custom cars, MLOs and scripts. Without many add-on assets, 4 GB is usually enough.

How many players fit on FiveM 8 GB? Up to 48 with the free license key, the FiveM limit. More slots need Element Club from Cfx.re. In practice your scripts and assets decide how many players run smoothly, not the slot count.

Is a database included? Yes. Every FiveM plan includes one MySQL database, created in SparkPanel under Databases. Extra databases cost €0.49 per month each.

Should OneSync be on? Yes. Modern roleplay frameworks and scripts expect OneSync. Only switch to legacy if an old script requires it.

Can I upgrade from 4 GB to 8 GB? Yes. Your files, resources and database stay.
