Where does the server run?
ServerSpark is a company in Rotterdam. The game servers run in EU data centres in Falkenstein (Germany) and Helsinki (Finland); VPS servers run in Nuremberg (Germany). For Minecraft, a few dozen milliseconds of ping plays smoothly: blocks, combat and redstone feel normal. Want to know your own ping? Test it from your connection on the locations page.
What to check before you order (at any host)
- Is VAT included? Some hosts show prices without VAT; Dutch and Belgian consumers then pay 21% more at checkout.
- Does it renew automatically? Many hosts charge your card every month. At ServerSpark you get an invoice and pay it yourself, which parents often prefer.
- Can you pay without a credit card? iDEAL (Netherlands) and Bancontact (Belgium) work here, as do card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer. PayPal is not available.
- How much RAM do you really get? 2 GB is enough for a few friends; modpacks need 6–8 GB. See How much RAM does a Minecraft server need?
- Backups. Here every server gets a nightly off-site backup plus backup slots you control.
- Can you leave? Cancel any time in your account. Paid ahead for 3 or 12 months? You get the full months that haven't started back.
