The Create mod (by simibubi) adds rotating machinery, contraptions, trains and automated factories to Minecraft. To play it with friends you need a server on NeoForge 1.21.1 or Forge 1.20.1, and every player needs the same version of Create. At ServerSpark you set that up in SparkPanel in a few minutes; we recommend 6 GB (€6.09 per month paid per quarter) for Create with a few addons and 8 GB (€8.49) for a big Create modpack.
Versions checked on Modrinth on 1 November 2026: Create 6.0.10 for NeoForge 1.21.1, Create 6.0.8 for Forge 1.20.1, and the separate Create Fabric port 6.0.8.1 for Fabric 1.20.1.
Which plan for Create?
| What you play | Plan | Per month, paid per quarter | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Create alone or with a few addons, 2–5 players | Minecraft 6 GB | €6.09 | €6.29 |
| A Create modpack with 100+ mods, big factories or trains across the map, or more than 5 players | Minecraft 8 GB | €8.49 | €8.79 |
Prices include 21% VAT. Create itself is not huge, but large running contraptions and loaded train lines keep many chunks and entities busy, so memory and CPU grow with your factory. You can upgrade later and keep your world.
Which version: NeoForge 1.21.1 or Forge 1.20.1?
- NeoForge 1.21.1 gets the newest Create releases first. Pick this for a fresh world with Create and recent addons.
- Forge 1.20.1 still gets Create updates and has the largest set of older addons and Create modpacks. Pick this when a pack or addon you want only exists for 1.20.1.
- Fabric 1.20.1 has a separate port, "Create Fabric", that follows a little behind. Only choose it if you want to combine Create with Fabric mods.
Addons such as Steam 'n' Rails, Create Deco or Crafts & Additions each have their own versions. Check every addon's page for your loader, Minecraft version and Create version before you start. More about loaders: Fabric vs Forge vs NeoForge.
Set up your Create server
- Order a 6 GB or 8 GB plan on Minecraft server hosting. Choose Germany (Falkenstein or Nuremberg) or Finland (Helsinki) as location.
- In SparkPanel, click Stop, go to Settings → Server software, choose NeoForge with version
1.21.1(or Forge with1.20.1), choose start a fresh world (old one kept), tick the confirmation and click Switch. - Open the Mods tab, search for Create and install it, then add your addons the same way. Required extras are added automatically.
- Start the server. It is ready when the console says
Done.
Your friends install the same Create
In the free Modrinth App, make a profile with the same loader and Minecraft version, add Create and the same addons in the same versions, and join with the address from Network. Easiest: build the profile once, use Export modpack and send the .mrpack file around.
Keep a Create server running smoothly
- Turn off contraptions you don't use. A huge factory that runs all night keeps the server busy even when nobody is online.
- Pre-generate the world before a big train network goes in, so new chunks aren't created during play.
- Back up before updates. Create updates can change how contraptions behave. Make a backup under Backups before you update Create or an addon.
- Lag? Follow Fix Minecraft server lag; with Create the cause is usually CPU, not memory.
Frequently asked questions
How much RAM does a Create server need? For Create with a few addons and a small group, 6 GB. For a Create modpack with 100+ mods or more than 5 players, 8 GB.
Which Minecraft version is best for Create? NeoForge 1.21.1 gets the newest Create versions first. Forge 1.20.1 is the choice when a Create pack or addon you want only exists there.
Can I add Create to my existing Paper world? No. Create is a mod, not a plugin, so the server must run NeoForge or Forge. An existing Paper world usually does not open properly after the switch; start a fresh world (the old one is kept).
Do my friends need to install anything? Yes. Every player needs the same loader, Minecraft version, Create version and addons as the server.
