Looking to rent a Minecraft server? There are dozens of hosts. On this page we put the prices side by side honestly, ours included, and explain what to look at besides price. We checked the competitors' prices on their own websites on 1 November 2026; they may have changed since.
Prices per month side by side
At ServerSpark you choose how often you pay. Per quarter you pay the price shown on our plans, monthly billing costs €0.30 per month more (€0.10 for 1 GB, €0.20 for 4 and 6 GB), and per year you get 1 month free. To compare like with like, put our monthly-billing price next to the other hosts' monthly prices.

Regular prices per month with monthly payment, as shown on each host's own price page on 1 November 2026 (click a name in the table for the source), without temporary discount codes. KoopjeServer and Etheron state that their prices include VAT; Ferox and MC-Node don't say on the page. * MC-Node's 1 GB and 2 GB plans are for Minecraft versions up to 1.12; for the latest version MC-Node recommends 4 GB or more. Discounts for paying ahead: KoopjeServer 5% for 3 months and 15% for 12 months, Ferox 2 months free on 12 months, Etheron a discount for longer terms without a stated percentage, MC-Node none shown. ServerSpark per quarter: you pay 3 months at once (for example €12.57 for 4 GB); per year: 11 times the quarterly price per month (for example €46.09 for 4 GB). A dash means the host doesn't sell that size on its own.
In short: In our comparison (other hosts' prices checked on 1 November 2026), ServerSpark is the cheapest for 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 GB Minecraft, also with monthly billing. At 1 GB the gap is small: €1.09 a month against €1.10 at MC-Node (for Minecraft versions up to 1.12 only); paid per quarter, ours is €0.99 a month.
What to look at besides price
- Memory (RAM). This decides how many players, plugins and mods your server can handle. A few friends need 2 GB; modpacks 6 GB or more. See How much RAM does a Minecraft server need?
- Is the server always on? Free hosts switch your server off when nobody plays and often have a queue. Paid servers run all day.
- Location. The closer the server is to you and your friends, the lower the delay (ping). For players in Europe, a server in Europe is best.
- Mods and modpacks. Can you switch between Paper, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge yourself, and install a modpack without uploading everything by hand?
- Backups. Are backups made automatically, and are they stored somewhere other than your server?
- Cancelling and refunds. Can you stop when you want? If you paid ahead, do you get the unused months back? Do you get your money back if it's not for you?

To be fair: we're a new host. We don't have years of reviews like the big names yet. That's why you can start with monthly billing, are never charged automatically, and can ask us anything before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Is free hosting enough? For trying things out, yes. If you want friends to be able to join any time, or you want to play modpacks, a paid server is more pleasant.
What's the cheapest good option? For 2 to 5 players without mods, 2 GB is enough. With us that's €1.89 a month when you pay per quarter, or €2.19 with monthly billing.
Are these prices still right? They were checked on 1 November 2026. Hosts change their prices sometimes; always check the current price on their own site.
