Updated 4 November 2026

A Minecraft server costs anywhere from nothing (a free host with a queue) to more than €10 a month. What you pay mostly depends on three things: how much memory (RAM) you need, how often you pay, and whether you add extras. On this page you see exactly what it costs at ServerSpark, with every billing option, and what you can expect elsewhere. Prices were checked on 28 October 2026 and include 21% VAT.

The short answer

  • A few friends, no mods: 1 or 2 GB, from €0.99 to €1.89 per month when you pay per quarter.
  • Plugins and 5 to 15 players: 4 GB, €4.19 per month paid per quarter, or €4.39 with monthly billing.
  • Modpacks: 6 GB (€6.09) for light packs, 8 GB (€8.49) for heavy packs.
  • Not sure yet? Try Minecraft Java 1 GB or 2 GB free for 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest way to run a Minecraft server with friends? For 2 to 5 players without mods, 2 GB is enough: €1.89 per month paid per quarter. Paying per year brings it to €1.73 per month.

Can I start small and upgrade later? Yes. You move to a bigger plan in the customer portal and only pay the difference for the rest of your period. Your world stays.

Why is paying per quarter cheaper? Every payment costs a transaction fee. If you pay for 3 or 12 months at once, that fee is paid less often, and we pass the saving on.
