Fabric server hosting
Minecraft Fabric server hosting
Fabric is the light, quickly updated mod loader for Minecraft Java. On a ServerSpark Minecraft server you switch to Fabric yourself in SparkPanel, pick any Minecraft version and install mods from Modrinth in one click. Mods they need, such as Fabric API, come along automatically.

Which size?
How much RAM for a Fabric server?
A rough guide. What you need depends on your mods, your players and how much of the world is explored. You can upgrade later and keep your world.
4 GB: a few light mods
Fabric with performance mods like Lithium and FerriteCore plus a handful of content mods, for 2 to 5 players. €4.19 per month paid quarterly, €4.39 monthly.
6 GB: 30 to 100 mods
A light modpack such as Cobblemon, or a growing mod list for a group of friends. €6.09 per month paid quarterly, €6.29 monthly.
8 GB: 100+ mods
Big content mods, a heavy Fabric modpack or more than 10 players. €8.49 per month paid quarterly, €8.79 monthly.
Any Minecraft version
Choose Fabric under Settings, Server software and enter the version you want, from the latest release to older ones.
Modrinth in one click
Search Modrinth in the Mods tab and click install. Library mods like Fabric API are added for you. Own .jar files go in the mods folder.
Backups
A nightly encrypted backup at a separate location, plus backup slots you use yourself right before you add or update mods.
How it works
From order to a running Fabric server
1. Order a Minecraft plan below. The server is created automatically within minutes, with Paper as the default. 2. Switch: in SparkPanel click Stop, open Settings, Server software, choose Fabric and enter the Minecraft version. Under World, choose start a fresh world (your old world is kept under a new name), tick the confirmation and click Switch. 3. Add mods in the Mods tab and start the server. It is ready when the console says Done.
Your friends need the same loader, the same Minecraft version and the same content mods. The easiest way is the free Modrinth App: make a profile, add the mods and export it as a .mrpack file for your friends. Full steps: Minecraft server with mods.
Honest advice
When Fabric is the right pick
Pick Fabric
- Your mods are made for Fabric: check the loader on each mod's Modrinth page.
- You play on a new Minecraft version and want mods that update quickly.
- You want performance mods like Lithium and FerriteCore on the server.
Pick something else
- Big tech or magic mods only made for NeoForge or Forge: choose that loader instead. See Fabric vs Forge vs NeoForge.
- You want players to join without installing anything: Paper with plugins. See Install Minecraft plugins.
- Mods and plugins on the same server: that is not possible on our servers. Pick the one that matters most.
More about Fabric and mods
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Can I run Fabric on any Minecraft version?
Yes. In SparkPanel under Settings, Server software you choose Fabric and enter the Minecraft version you want, for example the latest release or 1.20.1. You can switch back to Paper, Vanilla, Forge or NeoForge the same way.
Do I need to install Fabric API myself?
No. When you install a mod from the Mods tab, the mods it needs, such as Fabric API, are added automatically. When you upload a .jar by hand, the crash report names any missing library mod.
Which mods should not go on the server?
Mods that only change what you see on your own screen, like Sodium, Iris, shader mods and most HUD mods. They do nothing on a server and some stop it from starting. Each mod's Modrinth page shows whether it is needed on the client, the server or both.
How much does a Fabric server cost?
Minecraft 4 GB costs €4.19 per month paid quarterly or €4.39 monthly, 6 GB €6.09 or €6.29, and 8 GB €8.49 or €8.79. VAT included.
Where does my Fabric server run?
Minecraft Java servers run in Germany; at checkout you can also choose Finland. Both are EU data centres.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Choose a bigger plan in the customer portal and pay only the difference for the rest of your period. Your world and mods stay.
