Install Minecraft plugins

Add plugins to your Paper server through the panel.

Your ServerSpark server runs Paper by default. That means you can use thousands of plugins, like EssentialsX, LuckPerms, WorldEdit or Geyser.

1. Download the plugin

Only download plugins from trusted sites: Modrinth, Hangar or SpigotMC. You'll get a .jar file. Check that the plugin supports your Minecraft version.

2. Upload it to the plugins folder

  1. Open your server in SparkPanel and go to Files.
  2. Open the plugins folder.
  3. Click Upload and choose the .jar file.
Big or many files? Use SFTP with FileZilla or WinSCP. You'll find the details in SparkPanel under Connect. Your SFTP password is the game panel password from your welcome email.

3. Restart the server

Click Restart, then type plugins in the console: your new plugin should show up in green.

Configure a plugin

After the first start, a plugin often creates its own folder in plugins/ with a config.yml. Edit it through Files and restart the server.

Back up first

Making big changes? Create a backup first via Backups → Create backup in SparkPanel. If something goes wrong, restore it with one click.
