Your Hytale server installs itself. Before it can go online, it has to be linked once to a Hytale account. This guide covers that step, how to join, and the most useful settings.
1. Link the server to your Hytale account (first start only)
- Open your server in SparkPanel and click Start.
- The console shows a link and a short code, for example
Enter code: AbCdEfGh at https://accounts.hytale.com/device. - Open that link, log in with your Hytale account and enter the code. You have 10 minutes.
- The server continues automatically. When the console shows the server is ready, you can join.
2. Join your server
- Start Hytale and go to Servers.
- Add a server with the address from SparkPanel under Connect, for example
g-fi-01.serverspark.nl:25565. - Send the same address to your friends.
3. Useful settings
In SparkPanel under Settings:
- Patchline:
release(stable) orpre-release(newest features, more bugs). - Auto Update: on by default; the server updates itself when it starts.
- Enable World Backups and Backup Frequency (minutes): Hytale's own world backups, on top of our nightly backups.
- Allow Self-OP: turn on to give yourself operator rights in the game.
Restart the server after changing a setting.
4. Mods and plugins
Upload mods with the Files tab in SparkPanel, following the instructions of the mod itself, and restart the server. Before adding mods, make a backup under Backups. A broken mod can stop the server from starting; Ignore Broken Mods under Settings lets it start anyway.
Which plan?
4 GB runs a server for a group of friends. With many players, a big explored world or several mods, choose 8 GB. Questions? Email info@serverspark.nl.
